1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to site owners. The same term loosely applies to similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These cookies are required for the Services to function. They cannot be disabled. Under French CNIL guidance and ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3), strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent but must be disclosed.
- Clerk session cookies (__session, __client_uat) — authenticate you across the CleverAI apps. Set by Clerk.
- Cookie-consent state (cleverai_consent_v1, in localStorage) — remembers your consent choice so we don't ask again.
- CSRF protection tokens — prevent cross-site request forgery on state-changing endpoints.
Analytics (consent required)
As of 2026-05-12 we do not load any analytics tools. If/when we do, no analytics cookie will be set before you click "Accept analytics" in our cookie banner.
Marketing (consent required)
As of 2026-05-12 we do not load any advertising or marketing cookies. If/when we do, none will be set without your explicit consent.
3. How to give or withdraw consent
When you first visit Image Converter, a cookie consent banner appears. You can:
- Accept all — enable all current and future cookie categories.
- Reject all — only strictly-necessary cookies will be set.
- Customize — toggle each non-necessary category individually.
You may change your preference at any time by clearing the cleverai_consent_v1 entry from your browser's local storage, or by contacting us at privacy@cleverai.ai.
4. More information
For information on personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy. For French-specific rights, see the CNIL website.
